I was stone cold sober, heading home at 2:30am from a show that my band played. I was 1.5 hours away from home. A drunk driver on a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ROAD lost control of his vehicle and came into my lane, sideways and air-born. If I had not reacted quickly enough, really just a split second of time to react to a blur of lights that I knew did not belong where they were, I would have been hit head on and I would be dead. My wife would have been a widow and my kids would no longer have their father.
If you get behind the wheel with any alcohol in your system…ANY alcohol, shame on you. Remember these pictures and remember how you could be costing a family their father, husband, and son.
I am going to make it my purpose in life to warn people against this.
Imagine this: a car coming toward you, sideways, at 60mph, air-born for the last several yards, at 2:30 in the morning on a dark interstate on-ramp. You have a split second to react and try to avoid it. But you don't. How many others weren't as lucky as I was?
